Everything you need to know about Prostate Cancer. Following our hero's travails as he battles with bothersome bits behind his b*ll*cks.
One year on from brachytherapy
So it's one year today that I underwent brachytherapy to fix my prostate cancer. And what a year it's been!
I think the key thing is that I feel great - absolutely wonderful. It was a slow hill to climb at first, with some challenges and restrictions, but now, things are going well.
All systems are indeed nominal. I still have urgency to wee from time to time - maybe because I am continuing with the Tamsulosin. I stopped it for a week and things worked but there was a need to force it a bit when urinating and, frankly, sex wasn't as good. Basically, a good reason for going back on them I guess.
And, talking of that area of activity, I cannot commend too highly the beneficial effects of Tadalafil - also known as Cialis. It removes any doubts or performance anxiety, leaving both partners happy ( I believe - you'd have to ask Gloria).
The care given by the NHS has been amazing and all in all, I'm a happy bunny. Gloria has been very supportive throughout the whole thing and I'm delighted to say we had a lovely Valentine's Day. So all in the garden is rosy.
Now to concentrate on living and loving life to the full for as long as I can do it! Thanks for reading!
